Choosing Your White Clover Variety
Dutch White Clover
Dutch White Clover is a low-growing perennial, ideal for permanent ground cover. It requires minimal mowing and establishes a dense, stolon-rooted mat that suppresses weeds and improves pollinator habitat. Compared to taller Ladino types, Dutch White is shorter, more densely spreading, and more persistent — making it the more reliable choice for year-round ground cover, close grazing, and high-traffic areas.Shop coated and inoculated Dutch White Clover
Ladino White Clover
Ladino Clover (also known as Ladino White Clover) is the tallest, largest-leafed white clover, prized for pasture and hay. Its larger leaves and upright growth deliver excellent palatability and protein, supporting healthy livestock gains while fixing nitrogen to enrich the soil. Compared to the lower-growing Dutch type, Ladino produces more forage tonnage and the most nitrogen per acre of any white clover — though it's a shorter-lived perennial, making it the higher-yielding rather than the more persistent choice.
