Charlotte PeakBlend is a cover crop mixture combining Taproot Radish, triticale, and crimson clover — a broadleaf, grass, and legume combination that works on multiple levels to build soil health, manage nitrogen, and protect your fields through winter and into spring.
Taproot Radish drives an aggressive taproot deep into the soil profile, breaking up compaction and functioning as a natural nitrogen storage tank — capturing N and other nutrients in the fall and releasing them as the following cash crop needs them. Triticale soaks up additional nitrogen in both fall and spring, preventing leaching and holding nutrients in the system until a cash crop can utilize them. Crimson clover completes the trio by actively fixing atmospheric nitrogen, contributing up to 50 lbs of additional N heading into spring.
Together these three species deliver compaction relief, nitrogen management, and strong soil coverage in a single seeding. Seed comes pre-inoculated with crimson clover inoculant.
