Bristol PeakBlend
Bristol PeakBlend combines Taproot Radish and Jumbo Annual Ryegrass into a powerful two-way mixture focused on deep soil improvement, nutrient retention, and extended spring cover.
Taproot Radish drives an aggressive taproot 30 inches or deeper into the soil profile, breaking up compaction layers and creating channels that improve water infiltration and root penetration for following cash crops. The radish also functions as a nitrogen storage tank, capturing and holding nutrients over winter and releasing them as the following crop needs them.
Jumbo Annual Ryegrass builds soil structure deeper than many standard annual ryegrass varieties, complementing the radish's compaction work with fibrous root mass that improves overall soil tilth and biology. Together the two species provide exceptional ground cover and weed suppression extending into spring prior to termination.
Termination note: Annual ryegrass requires timely and effective termination management in the spring. Plan accordingly and consult your herbicide program before planting.
Seeding Rates & Depth: Precision: 10 lbs/acre | Drilled: 12 lbs/acre at ¼"–½" deep | Broadcast: 15 lbs/acre | Aerial: 18 lbs/acre
Planting Window: 3–10 weeks before average first killing frost.
Emergence: Taproot Radish: 3–5 days | Jumbo Annual Ryegrass: 14 days
Inoculant: Not required. Inter-seeding supported — contact a specialist for details.
Termination: Taproot Radish winterkills with 3 nights in the mid-teens. If radish does not winterkill, apply 1 pint of 2,4-D type herbicide at flowering/bolting. Jumbo Annual Ryegrass requires a burndown of 2 quarts of glyphosate. Best control is achieved on warm, sunny days above 60°F between 9 AM and 2 PM with spray water adjusted to pH 5.0–5.5. Apply at 8–12 inches in height, before the first node has developed or prior to jointing stage.
